With a deeply informed design vocabulary and the ability to transport viewers into a life well lived, Photographer & Director David Land understands the myriad stories there are to tell about the meaning of home. 

David was born in Northern California to a discerning ensemble that included a pilot, a botanist, painters, art collectors, sailors, and raconteurs. These were people who loved beauty, entertaining, and travel, creating a world that David absorbed at a cellular level—an influence that now comes to life in his sumptuous, multilayered photographs and moving images.

Living in Brooklyn with his husband and two sons, David has long been committed to showcasing and championing the work of Black artists and designers. Nurture is second nature to David, with the notion of “family” and the comforting presence of home and hearth woven throughout his stills and motion work.
