At an early age, Alpha’s cinematographer father would call her into the living room to watch and re-watch favorite scenes and opening shots. This appreciation of aesthetic storytelling eventually translated into a passion for still photography with the introduction to her first camera and the opportunity to work in the family’s basement darkroom. During her internship at Martha Stewart, Alpha was tasked with organizing portfolios from the greatest still life photographers in New York. The imagery in those books solidified Alpha’s ambitions. She moved to New York after completing her BFA at Brigham Young University and was fortunate enough to assist some of the best commercial photographers in the industry. Since then she has traveled the world collecting inspiration to weave into her photographs. She enjoys the collaborative process with stylists and artists in various fields.
